Scallywag

The Scallywag project comprises four wholly-owned granted exploration licences: Scallywag (E45/4701), Pascalle (E45/5316), Rudall (E45/5533) and Black Hills North (E45/6134) located adjacent to and around Havieron.  Exploration work is focused on the discovery of intrusion related gold-copper deposits similar to Havieron, Telfer and Winu.

  • Scallywag (E45/4701): comprises Neoproterozoic calcareous sediments of the Puntapunta Formation and quartzite from the Wilkie Formation.  The area is structurally complex with beds dipping moderately to steeply and generally striking north-northwest around the Black Hills anticline and a subordinate syncline to the southwest.
  • Rudall (E45/5533): comprises of a cover of Carboniferous to Permian Paterson Formation glacial sediments which overlie interpreted Neoproterozoic bedrock units of the Puntpunta Formation and Wilki Quartzite.
  • Black Hills North (E45/6134): comprises sedimentary units of the Neoproterozoic Puntapunta, Malu and Isdell Formation which have been folded around the Black Hills anticline and intruded by the Mount Crofton Granite.
  • Pascalle (E45/5316): comprises Neoproterozoic lithologies of the Puntapunta Formation and the Wilki Quartzite. Resistant ridges of Wilki Quartzite outcrop in the area that is otherwise covered by surficial aeolian sand.  The northern portion of the tenement is underlain by the southeastern edge of the Wilki Range intrusive, a 10km diameter granitoid plug.  The granite is covered by a series of shallow saltpans.  Meta-siltstones and muddy sandstones of the Kaliranu Formation (Isdell Formation) and a well-exposed ridge of underlying Wilki Quartzite, flank the granite.  The Kaliranu Formation is also exposed in the southwest corner of the tenement as a closure of a southeast-plunging syncline.

Canning

The Canning project comprises two wholly-owned granted exploration licences:  Canning (E45/5862) and Salvation Well (E45/5930) located approximately 175km south-east of Havieron within the south-eastern extensions of the Paterson Province in Western Australia.

The tenements contain two large magnetic ‘bullseye’ anomalies similar to the Havieron deposit magnetic signature.  No previous drill testing of these anomalies has been reported in historical records.  Greatland was granted the Canning (E45/5862) licence in November 2021 and the Salvation Well (E45/5930) licence in January 2023.

The Canning project tenements are relatively unexplored and there is very little information regarding the bedrock geology underneath a thick cover of Lower Carboniferous to Permian aged Canning Basin sediments of the Anketell Formation, Callawa Formation, Livieringa Group and Noonkanbah Formation.  The Geological Survey of Western Australia has interpreted a southeast to northwest trending major fault or shear zone (Camel-Tabletop fault) to lie just to the north of the project tenements.

Drilling conducted by Fortescue Metals Group Ltd in 2017 located to the south of the Canning (E45/5862) tenement intersected quartz monzonite interpreted to be part of the Archean Rudall Complex.  The depth of the Canning Basin sediments appears to increase from approximately 160m south of the Canning (E45/5862) tenement to 525m to the southeast.

Citadel Hill

Citadel Hill is a pending exploration licence application (E45/6377) located approximately 145km north-northwest of Havieron.  The tenement area was identified as a regional anomaly as part of an internal Pilbara prospectivity analysis and applied for once the ground became vacant.  It is located in the north-eastern portion of the Paterson Province and is entirely covered by Canning Basin sediments.  The depth of this cover is interpreted to be between 100 to 150m and the bedrock is interpreted as Yeneena Basin sediments, which host the Telfer, Havieron and Winu deposits.  Magnetic imagery indicates the bedrock stratigraphy trends northwest and is possibly dislocated by several northeast trending structures which may provide a transport mechanism for mineralisation.
